Farewell Service Friday 10th September 2004 

Friday 10th September 2004, marked the end of a nine-year ministry of Pastor Tom McLaughlin with the Mullaghmeen church.   A Farewell Service marked the occasion which was attended by a large number of members, past members, adherents and friends of the church and at which which Pastor Harry Dowds, from our neighbouring Stonepark Baptist church, gave the address.  The meeting was led by Barrie Clingen (Church Elder) with Pastor Ronnie Fyffe, a former member of the church opening in prayer and reading the scriptures.  Messages in song were brought by Timothy McCrea, after which Victor Irwin (Church Elder & Secretary) paid tribute to Pastor Tom McLaughlin, his wife Anne and daughter Debbie for the excellent work they had done in the Lord's name at Mullaghmeen.  They had seen both growth and much blessing and will be greatly missed.

At this point presentations were made to the Pastor by Tom McDaniel,  a foundation member of the church, to Anne McLaughlin by Alison McClean (Sunday School Superintendent), and to Debbie McLaughlin by Gary Knox (Youth Fellowship leader).  After each had suitably replied Mr John Cunningham committed Pastor McLaughlin and his family to the Lord in prayer.  Pastor  McLaughlin then outlined some of the changes and incidents that had taken place during his time of ministry, after which Pastor Dowds brought the closing message to the congregation from 1 Cor. 3. We are now currently without a Pastor.  Please pray for us during these days and especially remember the elders  and office-bearers as they seek God's man  to fill the vacancy.****************************************
