Our Elders

In September 2005 one of our elders, Barrie Clingen,
went into the Irish Baptist College
to study and train for full time Christian Work.
Earlier this year (2009) he wrote:
When I started studying in 2005 at the Irish Baptist College it was with a sense of adventure and going into the unknown as to what lay ahead for us as a family. Perhaps the three years at college was the most secure period, knowing that no change or upheaval would take place during that period.
Having completed my College course last May I am still studying one day a week to finish my BD. In the meantime I have also been preaching in various churches and praying that God will guide us to the place that he has planned for us and wants us to be.
This is the time of uncertainty, when we can ask where or when will we have to move? At times there have been disappointments and it can be difficult to be patient and wait for God to guide and lead but we trust him who knows best.
His word encourages us and recently as I was reading Isaiah these words were prominent ‘for I am God and there is no other; I am God and there is none like me….’My counsel shall stand, and I will accomplish my purpose’ (46:9+10).
News Update!
June 2009.
Barry has now accepted a call to pastor the Crumlin Baptist
Church. We will miss him here at Mullaghmeen and wish him, his
wife Jeanette, and their family God's richest blessing in their new
ministry at Crumlin.

Mullaghmeen Baptist Church and is also Church Secretary. He is
a retired civil servant now engaged in full time farming. He
is married to
Joan and they have two married sons - Ian and Darrell. |
